It doesn’t matter whether you are residing in New York City or you are visiting it; if you do not see New York’s skyline at dawn or dusk then you haven’t really seen New York. With gracious bundles of skyscrapers uniquely lit each night, it compares to no monuments or places in the world. Best options to capture the beauty of magnificent skyscrapers are riverfronts, cruising around the city or dining at restaurants which have exotic Skyline view. These places take you far away from city’s hustle bustle, induce calmness and improve peace of mind.

Having said much about NYC skyline, Today I am writing a review about a beautiful authentic Mexican restaurant located in Weehawken, NJ on the banks of Hudson river called Charrito’s. It’s best to visit this place during summers as they have open terrace. During winters you can go for in-house dining with see through windows where you can dine by gazing at various sky scrapers of New York.

Tequila, tacos, sitting by the sea and New York’s view ; what else do you need in life? Right? Charrito’s interior is inspired from a place called Oaxaca in Mexico and has a traditional Mexican touch to it. They serve food in beautiful plates made out of clay. The winner of all dishes is their live guacamole. I have had guacamole at various Mexican restaurants but I would say this is the best so far. They make guacamole at your table by scooping avocado into stone bowl and then adding onions, jalapenos, tomatoes, lemon, salt and pepper to it and finally grinding them all together with a stone. Guacamole is served with salsa, sour cream and tortilla chips. If you order an entrée, Guacamole is absolute complimentary. Yay!

For the starter, I had Quesadillas both chicken and veggie served with salsa and sour cream. Also Elotes that is boiled corn with mayo, queso blanco and powdered chili was yum. From the Entrée I have tried Enchiladas Oaxaquenas, Tacos de papa, Chilaquiles Picante. I must say all dishes were great and had perfect balance of taste. There are wide variety of choices available for meat eaters. If you are a vegan/vegetarian they have options for you too. Also you can order other items and replace meat with beans. Don’t forget to order some margarita. And you will enjoy your dinner at its best.

Unlike other rooftop and skyline view restaurants, this ain’t so costly and is a perfect combo of great food, great aura and great price. The ambience is perfect for a date night if you get a table near the window or at the terrace during summers. You can also visit with your friends and family.

So try it if you still haven’t and let me know what you guys think about Charrito’s.
